My name is Shelisa (“Sha-Leesa”), and I answer to anything close. I have a Master’s in Education and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a Minor in Early Childhood. I was an Air Force Wife for my first years of teaching which gave me a wonderful walk through the grades in several states and England. I have taught Pre-K, 2nd, 4th, 6th, and coached 6th-7th grade volleyball and basketball. I’ve been a kindergarten aide, substitute, nanny, and served in Children’s Ministry.
Then I became a baby factory. We had our 3 children in 3 years (on purpose) and I was blessed to stay at home with them through their early elementary years and start my “home learning” adventures. When my youngest started kindergarten, I happily went back to teaching in the public classroom while never closing the doors on my classroom at home. I love to tell my kids we’re all teachers and learners in our house…and am reminded daily that I have a lot to learn!
When I’m not reliving my childhood through my children, I adore spending time with my high school sweetheart of 20 years and husband of 15 years. I love being with friends/family, traveling, church, learning, reading, writing, cooking/baking, taking pictures, watching and pretending to play sports, commissioning my own girls’ only fantasy football league, volunteering, daydreaming, and a healthy dose of TV, movies, and theater.
I’m cheesy by nature. My house is often messy, which I prefer to call busy. I’m always behind on scrapbooking. I wish I was better with coupons and I swear the elliptical laughs at me…but I do have some fun ideas for home learning, and I can’t wait to collect ideas from you.
