For this month’s parenting post on Playdough to Plato, I wanted to share something I’ve spent much time lately thinking about. I have three really cool kids, who are all sensitive in different ways. While we honor sensitivity and tender hearts around here, I’m also seeing the need for a bit more grit…not too much, but the right amount to push through mistakes and times in life you just don’t want to do something you have to do. Enough grit to bounce back quickly and laugh at yourself when you want to hide from embarrassment. There’s plenty of times we see glimpses of grit, but its painful to parent through all the times we don’t.
