These are my favorite teachable moments. Not the spilling necessarily, but sneaking in learning naturally throughout the day. No plan. No prep time. Just action on my reaction.
“Oops, Mommy…I spilled my green juice” (This post is not sponsored by Bolthouse farms, but I thank them for helping me sneak veggies into my kids)

Lesson 1: Liquids vs. Solids
Lesson 2: Can you see your reflection? Where else can you see your reflection?
Lesson 3: “How long do you predict it will take for the paper towel to absorb the liquid? Let’s time it! Tell me about the pattern you see on the paper towel!”
Boo-yah. Science with a side of math. Done. Now go play while Mommy works on her Pinterest Boards

Have you had any random teachable moments lately?

I LOVE this post and its simplicity!!! I also LOVE your ending line!
Thanks so much for linking up to this week’s Kids Co-Op! This is my first visit to your blog! And I’m so glad I found it!
Thanks Play Dr Mom! I love the simple times too!
I think that Nova Scotia dulse is seaweed. Lots of good vitamins and minerals!
Thanks Malke, you are always teaching me something!
I love those science lessons too. They make for nice quick science. The hard part is as they get older their science lessons on the moment get harder to explain “Why does ____________?”
Oh and thanks for linking up to Science Sunday! I’m slow on commenting from the last week or so.
